INGLEWOOD, Calif. — Jay-Z will headline the Apple Music Super Bowl LXI Halftime Show on February 14, 2027, at SoFi Stadium, the NFL, Apple Music and Roc Nation announced Monday.

The game will air on ABC and ESPN and stream on Disney+. It is ESPN’s first live Super Bowl.

“From Reasonable Doubt to standing on the Super Bowl Halftime stage, this has been a journey,” Jay-Z said in a statement. “Thirty years of music, work, and culture on the world’s biggest stage.”

Roc Nation, the company Jay-Z founded in 2008, has produced the halftime show since partnering with the NFL in 2019 and will executive produce the 2027 show. Hamish Hamilton, who directed Beyoncé’s 2013 halftime performance, will direct.

NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell said his one request when the league signed Roc Nation was that Jay-Z “take the stage himself one day, whenever the moment felt right to him.” Puck reported last week that Jay-Z had chosen himself for the slot.

A Catalog Built for Stadiums

Jay-Z, born Shawn Carter, has 14 No. 1 albums on the Billboard 200, the third-most in chart history. He has won 25 Grammys from 89 nominations, according to ESPN.

His four Billboard Hot 100 No. 1s are “Empire State of Mind” with Alicia Keys and featured turns on Mariah Carey’s “Heartbreaker,” Beyoncé’s “Crazy in Love” and Rihanna’s “Umbrella.”

The booking follows his JAY-Z30 stadium tour, marking 30 years of Reasonable Doubt and 25 of The Blueprint. Three sold-out Yankee Stadium shows in July grossed about $42.3 million, Fortune reported, citing Touring Data. The tour closed with two SoFi Stadium shows October 23 and 24.

What He Might Perform

No set list or guests have been announced.

Early predictions center on the hits. Complex expects a medley of about 16 songs, including “Hard Knock Life (Ghetto Anthem),” “Izzo (H.O.V.A.),” “99 Problems,” “Run This Town” and “Empire State of Mind.”

Complex also predicts an appearance by Beyoncé, Jay-Z’s wife, for “Crazy in Love.” She headlined Super Bowl XLVII in 2013.

Jay-Z will be 57 on game day, the oldest headliner of the Roc Nation era, according to Complex.
