New Episode of The Walking Dead Online Talk Show, Playing Dead (video)

Telltale Games is serving up fresh zombie action with a brand new episode of PLAYING DEAD, its online talk show about THE WALKING DEAD videogame. This episode, the fourth in the series, features lead designers Sean Vanaman and Jake Rodkin talking shop with host A.J. LoCascio (the voice of Marty McFly in Telltale’s Back to the Future game series) about the making of THE WALKING DEAD – EPISODE 1: A NEW DAY as well some juicy tidbits about EPISODE 2: STARVED FOR HELP.

For readers not in the know, there are five thrilling installments of THE WALKING DEAD video game, and you can experience them in full on PC and Mac via the Telltale Games Store (http://www.telltalegames.com/store/) and other digital distribution outlets as a season pass for $24.99. On XBLA, each episode will cost just 400 MS Points, and on PSN, each episode will cost just $4.99, or $19.99 as a season pass. Episode 2 is coming soon, according to Telltale.

THE WALKING DEAD is an episodic adventure video game with action and role-playing elements based on Robert Kirkman’s THE WALKING DEAD comic book series for iOS, Mac OS X, Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. The first episode was released in April 2012 across all platforms with the exception of the iOS version. Unlike typical zombie games such as Left 4 Dead, this game focuses more on characterization and emotion than action.

THE WALKING DEAD features cross-genre of both adventure and action with some role-playing elements in which, like in the previous Telltale titles, the player must make use of inventory items and environment. The game is told from the point of view of a new character named Lee Everett, who is the only controllable character in the game. Some characters from the original comic book series appear in-game, including Hershel Greene and Glenn. Players will be able to meet them before the plot in the comic book begins to take place.

THE WALKING DEAD continues to receive critical praise and the series was just announced as having sold over 1 million episodes in just two weeks! On top of that, we’re in the throes of E3 planning so it’s a busy time! If you haven’t already set up a meeting with us at E3 to see what’s coming next and would like to, let us know and we’ll get you on the books!
