“Warehouse 13”: Review

“Warehouse 13” is the latest sci-fi offering by Syfy, formerly the Sci-Fi Channel. This sci-fi procedural puts two comically mismatched Secret Service agents on a quest to retrieve supernatural artifacts and safeguard them in a government maintained facility in South Dakota called Warehouse 13.

The show stars Eddie McClintock and Joanne Kelly as Secret Service agents Pete Lattimer and Myka Bering, respectively. They generate enough energy to keep audiences engaged. But “Warehouse 13” suffers from feeling like other shows or movies we have seen before, like “National Treasure” meets “The X-Files” with a bit of humor thrown in.

With the creative force of Jane Espenson, co-executive producer and writer on “Battlestar Galactica” and “Buffy the Vampire Slayer,” behind “Warehouse 13,” perhaps the show will grow into its own over time.

“Warehouse 13” airs Tuesdays at 9 p.m. on Syfy
