“Hatchet II” is the second installment in the slasher movie franchise, set in the Louisiana bayou. In “Hatchet”, two hunters, Sampson (Robert Englund) and his son Ainsley (Joshua Leonard), go fishing in a swamp during a full moon and are murdered by a disfigured human/being. “Hatchet II” begins where the original ended, with the story’s heroine escaping the clutches of the ‘deformed, swamp-dwelling iconic killer’ Victor Crowley. After learning the truth about her family’s connection to the hatchet-wielding madman, Marybeth returns to the Louisiana swamps along with an army of hunters to recover the bodies of her family and exact the bloodiest revenge against the bayou butcher.
