Israeli supermodel Bar Refaeli upset Egyptians when she called the country “primitive” in an interview after her most recent visit to the country a month ago, according to report in the Egyptian press.
Just before returning to Israel for a visit with her partner, Hollywood actor Leonardo DiCaprio, Refaeli joined British supermodel Naomi Campbell and her partner on vacation in Egypt. Refaeli made the controversial comments when she later arrived in Israel and was asked about her trip to Egypt.
In interviews, Refaeli described the trip, in which she visited the most popular tourist sites, as wonderful. But when she was asked if she had any intention of returning to Egypt in the near future, the Israeli model replied, “Egypt is a very primitive place.” More.
