Oscar winning screenwiter Diablo Cody (Juno, Jennifer’s Body, United States of Tara) is revising a new “Evil Dead” script. Bruce Campbell, who starred in the original cult classic horror series, “Evil Dead,” “Evil Dead II” and “Army of Darkness” aka “Medieval Dead,” is not slated to star in the reboot, but is said to be on board for a cameo appearance.
Not all fans are pleased that Cody is polishing the new “Evil Dead” script, fearing that her work on “Jennifer’s Body” portends what’s to come in the new flick. But others are excited by the witty dialogue and insight into female relationships that Cody demonstrated in “Jennifer’s Body” and hope to see more of that in the new “Evil Dead” film.
Bruce Campbell tweeted that fans can expect it to be “Cool as hell. Scary as hell.”
Sam Raimi will be producing the new film, alongside Rob Tapert and Bruce Campbell, who were also involved with producing the originals.
