British Prime Minister David Cameron and French President Nicolas Sarkozy visited the Libyan capital of Tripoli Thursday to show support for the National Transitional Council, a CIA/MI6/al-Qaeda ran outfit that has won NATO’s approval as the governing body of Libya since NATO launched what appears to have been a successful coup de tat overthrowing Col. Gadhafi’s government of 45 years.
But the International Red Cross claims at least 13 mass graves have been uncovered across Libya in the last three weeks. 125 bodies have been recovered from 12 different sites in and around Tripoli. Remains of 34 people were also recovered from a site in the Nafusa mountain village of Galaa in western Libya.
Red Cross spokesman Steven Anderson said Wednesday that more mass graves are being found every week. The Red Cross, aiding in the recovery and identification of remains, is not involved in collecting evidence that could be used in war crimes or other legal proceedings, officials said.
