Bradley wins 2011 PGA Championship

A list of unknowns ruled the leaderboard in the final day of the 2011 PGA Championship, which saw first time winner Keegan Bradley take the title and Wanamaker Trophy at the Atlanta Athletic Club.

It wasn’t long before he posted it on Twitter with three hash tags — “pgachampion. triplebogies. happiness.” “It feels unbelievable,” he said. “It seems like a dream and I’m afraid I’m going to wake up here in the next five minutes and it’s not going to be real.”

Bradley became only the third player in at least 100 years to win a major championship in his first try. He also bested long-time champions Tiger Woods, who failed to make the cut in the 3rd round, and notables champions Luke Donald, Lee Westwood and Rory McIlroy, whose performance was hindered by an injured wrist.
