Fox News host Eric Bolling stirred up controversy Thursday, shocking his co-hosts on “Fox and Friends” when he told Rep. Maxine Waters to “step away from the crack pipe.”
Waters raise GOP bile levels when video surfaced Wednesday showing her calling House Republican leaders John Boehner and Eric Cantor “demons.”
Bolling and co-host Steve Doocy swiftly rode to Boehner and Cantor’s defense, taking turns bashing Waters. But Bolling used blunt force where a feather duster might have been more appropriate.
Evoking the memory of America’s sweetheart, freshly deceased pop icon Whitney Houston, Bolling said” “Congresswoman, you saw what happened to Whitney Houston.” “Step away from the crack pipe, step away from the Xanax, step away from the Lorazepam because it’s going to get you in trouble.”
The other hosts immediately gasped, and Doocy muttered, “she’s not using drugs.”
Undeterred, Bolling fearlessly added: “How else do you explain those comments?” When the show returned from a break, Bolling quickly backtracked. “I just want to say I was kidding about the crack pipe,” he said. “Just kidding.”
“Of course,” Doocy said.
