Actress Melanie Griffith has returned to rehab after struggling with drug and alcohol addiction three prior times in the past. She has checked herself into the Cirque Lodge in Utah, according to reports.
Her publicist Robin Baum says Griffith is in rehab to “reinforce her commitment to stay healthy.” “This is part of a routine plan that was designed between her and her doctors years ago.”
Griffith, 52, announced in 200 that she was receiving treatment at the Daniel Freedman Hospital to overcome a medication prescribed for a neck injury. She said on her Web site that her husband, actor Antonio Banderas, her three children and family are supporting her through her journey with addiction.
Griffith, best known for her role as Tess McGill in “Working Girl,” has two new films in post production: “Sweet Baby Jesus” and “Around the World in 50 Years 3D”. She also has had much success on Broadway. In 2003, Griffith “turned to the Broadway stage and emerged with a rave review from the New York Times theater critic and also packed houses for her turn as the murderess “Roxie” in the musical “Chicago,” according to IMDB.
