Being a congresswoman and presidential candidate aren’t keeping Michele Bachmann busy enough. So, she’s added a part-time job: God’s mouthpiece. The Holy Spirit, apparently, is falling down on the job. Bachmann says Hurricane Irene and last week’s earthquake were messages from the Big Guy that Washington must change its ways.
Of course, if he were sending a message with natural disasters, God might be miffed by the world’s indifference to climate change, a notion that Bachmann has called a scientific “hoax, voodoo, nonsense, hookum.” But Bachmann doesn’t see that possibility, probably because she’s plugged into the divine message, which the rest of us can’t hear.
That leaves us wondering: When Bachmann has a migraine, is it just a headache, or is God tapping out a message in her brain in Morse code?
And, by the way, what message is God sending to Gov. Rick Perry’s drought-stricken Texas? Perry is ahead in the GOP polls, after all.more
