Vampire Diaries Recap: Bad Moon Rising

This is the episode in which everything that can go wrong does in Mystic Falls. Elena (Nina Dobrev), Damon (Ian Somerhalder) and Alaric (Matt Davis) went on a tension-filled road trip to Duke University, looking for clues behind the Lockwood family’s strange sensitivity to the vampire dog-whistle and super-human/super-vampire strength. The team rummaged through Isobel’s research on folklore and the paranormal when they are confronted by former student, Vanessa (guest star Courtney Ford, “Dexter”) who not only offers to guide them through the research, but manages to piss Damon off and flirt with Alaric at the same time.

Stefan (Paul Wesley), who remained in Mystic Falls to snoop around and protect locals from the new vamp in town, met his new super-powers rival in the woods, wolfman Mason (guest star Taylor Kinney), while Tyler (Michael Trevino) finally learned the shocking truth about his family and the alleged slave dungeon, which looks more like a place the house the wolf-pack.

Steve R. McQueen, Katerina Graham, Sara Canning and Zach Roerig also star. Patrick Norris directed the episode written by Andrew Chambliss.

“The Vampire Diaries” is an American supernatural–fantasy horror television series developed by Kevin Williamson, based on the book series of the same name by L. J. Smith.

With the show doing so well, wonder if they will win awards at this year’s Scream 2010? The cast presented the Best TV award at last year’s ceremony.
