Prometheus is an upcoming science fiction film directed by Ridley Scott and written by Jon Spaihts and Damon Lindelof. The film stars Noomi Rapace, Michael Fassbender, Guy Pearce, Idris Elba, Logan Marshall-Green and Charlize Theron. The plot follows the crew of the spaceship Prometheus in the year 2085, as they explore an advanced alien civilization in search of the origins of humanity.
Conceived as a prequel to Scott’s 1979 science fiction horror film Alien, rewrites of Spaihts’ script by Lindelof developed a separate story that precedes the events of Alien, but which is not directly connected to the films in the Alien franchise. According to Scott, though the film shares “strands of Alien’s DNA, so to speak”, and takes place in the same universe, Prometheus will explore its own mythology and ideas. Principal photography began in March 2011, with filming taking place in England, Iceland, and Spain. Prometheus is scheduled for release between May 30 and June 8, 2012 in various territories through 20th Century Fox.
Premise: In the late 21st Century, a star map is discovered within the imagery of Aztec, Mesopotamian and Magdalenian civilizations. The crew of the spaceship Prometheus is sent on a scientific expedition to follow the map as part of a mission to find the origins of mankind. Exploring the advanced civilization of an extraterrestrial race, they soon discover a threat to humanity’s very existence.
Cast:
Noomi Rapace
Noomi Rapace will play a scientist named ” Elizabeth Shaw” on the expidition to the Alien world. Not much is known about her, but we have been hinted that there may be a flash back to her history prior to the events leading up to Prometheus, not much is known however what significance this could hold to the overall turn out of the film.
Michael Fassbender
Michael will play “David”, a robot synthetic (a main character) on board the Prometheus venturing out into space. In the Comic-Con footage released earlier 2011, it shows David examining some form of liquid on his finger – suspected “Grey Matter” which is an integral part of the Prometheus Plot. David presents a very important role in Prometheus.
Charlize Theron
Charlize will play the role of “Vickers” in Prometheus, a company rep joining the team as they venture into the unknown. Vickers represents the “company” on board the Prometheus. Vickers is supposedly a very important part of the plot of Prometheus.

Kate plays the role of “Mudow” in Prometheus. The crew member responsible for acclimating the crew after 5 years of hyper-sleep. Unfortunately her character lasts only 28 minutes in the film before being eaten by an Alien!
