Lindsay Lohan returns to court on reckless driving charges

LOS ANGELES – Lindsay Lohan goes back to court Wednesday at a scheduling hearing to address allegations of reckless driving and making false statements to the police.

Lindsay Lohan is accused of lying to the police about driving a sports car that crashed into a dump truck in June, of reckless driving and of obstructing officers from performing their duties.

Superior Court Judge Stephanie Sautner had previously sentenced Lindsay Lohan to jail and house arrest and warned the actress in March to stop partying.

Lindsay Lohan was on probation at the time of the accident and could face 245 days in jail if Judge Sautner determines she violated her sentence at a later hearing.

The American actress has made headlines in recent weeks as news broke that a new film, “The Canyon,” in which she stars, has been overlooked by Sundance and SXSW Film Festivals.

Lindsay Lohan began her career as a child fashion model when she was three, and was later featured on the soap opera “Another World “for a year when she was 10. At age 11, Lohan made her motion picture debut in Disney’s remake of “The Parent Trap”, a critical and commercial hit. Her next motion picture, Disney’s remake of “Freaky Friday”, was also a success at the box office and with critics. With the release of “Mean Girls”, another critical and commercial success, Lohan became a household name and a frequent target of paparazzi and tabloids. The two films earned her several MTV Movie Awards and Teen Choice Awards.
