Autopsy reports suggest that DJ AM died from an apparent suicide. The celebrity DJ had swallowed a handful of the painkiller OxyContin, with one undigested pill found in his mouth and eight in his stomach, a report claims. He was found lying on top of a bag of crack cocaine.
“He wanted to die,” a law enforcement source told People magazine. “He was going unconscious when he took the last one. He didn’t even swallow it.”
Cops also found a Valentine’s Day card from his former sweetheart, fashion model Haley Wood, lying on a coffee table in the living room of his $2 million apartment on Lafayette St. The card, dated Feb. 14, 2009, read “Thank God you’re in my life. I love you,” the source told People.
DJ AM, whose real name was Adam Goldstein, died at the age of 36. His BlackBerry was filled with messages from worried friends. One read, “Some [expletive] just said you’re dead. Better text me back.”
