Sanctuary returns to Syfy Friday, October 15th, so we are bringing you the ‘best of’ season 2 to get fans fired up for the big night. Our first choice for best episode is “Sleepers.”

Cashing in on the vampire craze with great style and aplomb, Helen Magnus and Will investigate the mysterious disappearances of a number of wealthy teenagers. Their investigation leads them to a rehab clinic in Mexico, run by Tesla. That can’t be good.

As fans can imagine, Tesla has cured his “patients” but infected them with a serum meant to turn them into vampires in 30 years and provide him an army to aid him in restoring the primacy of vampire-kind. But one of Tesla’s “patients” has discovered, trough a freak accident, that dying also triggers the conversion process. Now a bloodsucker, Tesla’s young creation turns his friends, bringing forth a more powerful type of vampire than Tesla ever intended. He recruits his tech savy alpha-type friends who were also at the rehab, shooting them in order to bring them back as vampires.

The young guns seek guidance from Tesla when they discover that their vamp powers don’t work like on tv or in books. But the fashion-forward crew quickly realizes Tesla’s got his own agenda and wants to run the show. Teacher/student hour ends abruptly when the teens steal his equipment and blood and reverse engineer his treatment. Tesla’s impressed, but knows these kids have got to go.

The Sanctuary team finds Tesla’s fail-safe, the “de-vamper” in an empty bottle of vintage vino, and sets about storming the vamp teens’ penthouse layer. Tesla uses the de-vamper to convert the vampires back to human. However, in the struggle, Tesla accidentally targets himself and is also de-vamped; he is very distressed at this development and wants to find a way to regain his vampire status. At the end of the episode, Tesla discovers that he has gained a new power: magnetism.
